Under the commnd of general Douglas Macarthur, 15 countries including the US nad Great Britain invaded south They moved north where they met with troops that landed at Inchon via amphibious vehicle. where almost half of the North korean troops surrendered immediately. The rest retreated with the US and South Korean troops not far behind. -

The carter administration sent a letter to brenshnev denouncing soviet aggression. The administration also made sanctions and embargoes againsed the soviet union and called for a boycott of the 1980 moscow olympics. This ended up in a decade long struggle to get the Soviet union out of afghanistan.
