Jobs met Steve Wozinak in 1971 by their friend Bill Fernandez. In 1976 Wozinak made the Apple 1 computer. Another person named Ronald Wayne, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozinak were in Jobs parents garage trying to sell the computer.

After he left Apple Steve founded NeXt Computer . The next year Jobs was running out of money! A billionaire Ross Perot helped NeXt. The first NeXt workstation opened in 1990 and it was technologically advanced.

In 1986 Jobs bought The Graphics Group (later renamed Pixar) from Lucasfilm's computer graphics division for the price of $10 million. The first movie the produced was Toy Story. n the years 2003 and 2004, as Pixar's contract with Disney was running out, Jobs and the Disney chief executive Michael Eisner tried but failed to negotiate a new partnership. In early 2004, Jobs announced that Pixar would seek a new partner to distribute its films after its contract with Disney expired.

In 1996, Apple announced that it would buy NeXT for $429 million, bringing Jobs back to the company he co-founded. In August 2011, Jobs resigned as CEO of Apple, but remained with the company as chairman of the company's board.

In October 2003, Jobs was diagnosed with cancer,and in mid-2004, he announced to his employees that he had a cancerous tumor in his pancreas.
