In these first few pages, it tells about how Stargirl(the main character) goes to a new school and stands out from the crowd where she met her boyfriend, Leo. After a year she moves and thats the start to the new beginning where she starts to experience new things. During this time, she is writing letters to Leo on how much she misses him and things thatremind her of him. -
Pg.30-62
In these pages, Stargirl meets a little girl named Dootsie who is very creative and random.Dootsie loves Stargirls name and her pet rat named Cinnamon. This is when Stargirl and Dootsie become bestfriends. Dootsie takes Stargirl all town and during this, she meets Betty Lou who is scared to come out of her house, During this whole time, Stargirl is still sad and removes pebbles from her wagon which determines how happy she is. -
Pg. 63-90
In these pages, Stargirl and Dootsie go on more adventures. One was to Margie's donut shop where a mean and sassy girl named Alvina works. Alvina is different and Stargirl notices that. Stargirl also starts to notice this boy who she calls Dumpster boy because he steals food from the dumpster and from stores. During this time, Stargirl not only takes another pebble away, she also adds a pebble because Dootsie is helping her be happy and forget about Leo. -
Pg. 91-113
In these pages, the dumpster boy comes back. This time he talks to Dootsie and buys lemonade from her. Stargirl then asks Dootsie what his name and she says it's "Perry." Stargirl follows him home witnessing him stealing more food. Also Stargirl and Dootsie watch Alvina get in a fight with a boy and Dootsie begins to not like Alvina. Stargirl likes to go on walks to the Enchanted hill where she notices a man sitting by his wifes grave. She gave him donuts which made her add another pebble.
