    The Tetan Sioux at first seemed nice offering a medal, a militaty coat, and a cocked hat however they turned on Lewis and Clarks Crew and said they had to give them a ship if they wanted to pass. Disagreeing the indian tribe got violant forcing Lewis and Clark to pull out their weapons. Before any bloodshed however both sides backed off and went their way
  • Racing against Winter's Approach

    Lewis and Clarks goal was to sale as far as possible before the Missouri River Froze. Four days after the first snowfall they finished sailing and parked it at the Mandan's Tribe Village. They built a fort for protection from weather and enemies, but before the end of November the Fort already was done. The ice cold weather and snow took the fort down and it forced soldiers to be put outside on duty switching every half an hour.

    Lewis and Clark learned things from the Mandan Tribe over the winter like hunting for Buffalo, fixing equioment and akso the layout of the land to the west. During this time they also hired a french interpretter, Toussaint, who would bring with him his wife Sacajawea and their kids
  • Into Grizzley Weather

    Traveling west, Lewis and Clark, ran into some grizzly bears. They thought they would be fine because they had riffles however one of the bears charged Lewis forcing him to run for his life for 80 yards until someone could reoload and fire at the bear.

    In may, the crew lost one of its priogues when a gust of wind tipped the boat after. Sacajawea was able to save a couple of the journals and important information.

  • A fort in the river

    Lewis and Clark came to a fork in the river, They couldn't afford to make the wrong decision so they took teams one going south and one going on the right side of the fork.
  • Arounf the Great falls.

    June 13 Lewis was the first white man to see the Great Falls. June 16 Lewis and Clark came back together and headed to the rocky mountains
  • Toward the Continental Divide

    Getting closer to the peaks they needed horses to travel. The Fort Mardan tribe told them they woulf meet up with a tribe that had indians. So far they haven't seen anything.
  • Among the Shoshone

    August 11, Lewis spotted a shosone indian on horseback. The indian led the crew back to his chief. The chief ended up being sacajawea's brother. He sold them horses which were essential for surviving.
  • Deadly Crossing

    They started running out of supplies. They reached the Bitteroot Valley. They met some indians which supplied them with food and horses. They were headed to the pacific.
