Columbus's goal was to find a new route to Asia. Columbus found gold and other goods. this was important because he started the Spanish exploring In North America because of its riches.

Cortes exploration

Cortes conquered the Aztec Empire, whichthen he conquered the Aztecs. this is important because he sparked the interest of man people to explore North and South America because he found SO MUCH GOLD

Pineda's voyage

Pineda's goal was to find a water route to the Pacific Ocean. He made an accomplishment by making a report of the region first to map gulf from Florida to Texas.

DeVaca voyage part 1 "start day"

Narvez was the original leader of DeVaca. their reason for exporatin was tofnd the seven cities of gold

DeVaca discovers Texas

It was reported that there are seven cities of gold or Cibola an said people should go into Texas. Texas is a good place. They were there from 1528-1537. DeVaca encountered with the Karankawas.

Fray Marcos and Esteban journey

Esteban and Marcos purpose for journey was sent to find the seven cities of gold. Esteban was killed by the Zunis. Fray Marcos reported of seeing a city filled with gold, looked larger than Mexico City.

Moscoso' expedition

DeSoto was the original leader and he died. He reported that Spain would not return for 150 years because of these reports.

Coronado's expedition

The two cities he searched for was the Palo Duro Canyon and Arizona grand canyon. His guide for the second part was the Turk. the Turk was killed. Explored 5 states looking for the seven cities of Cibola. This is important because he told everyone not to go to Texas the land offers nothing, the outcome was that the Spanish do not return with any major expeditions discovered for 150 years.
