History changed when the Soviet Union successfully launched Sputnik I. The world's first artificial satellite was about the size of a beach ball, weighed a little under 200 pounds, and took about 100 minutes to orbit the Earth on its elliptical path. Apollo-16 launch

Three primary objectives were (1) to inspect, survey, and sample materials and surface features (2) activate surface experiments(3) conduct in-flight experiments and photographic tasks from lunar orbit. This is the fifth mission where we walked on the moon. -
