    Copernicus

    In 1543 Copernicus published a book abut his new idea. Most people in his day thought that the Earth was in middle of the universe an idea known as geocentric univese. They thought that the stars were little hole in a glass ball which surrounded the earth. Copernicus thought " what if the universe is not centered on the earth ? what if the earth is actually a planet circling the sun " not a lot of people liked his book they would of put him in jail for writing if he did'nt die shortly after that

    Galileo is an italian astronomer that invented a telescope and looked at the milky way and discovered that it was made up of millions of stars each at a different distance from earth. Galileo noticed that that the planets Mercury and Venus pass through phases just like the moon and Galileo found out that jupiter has 4 moons and Galileo also fond out that everything falls at the same speed. The most important thing about this is that he was not guessing and he hadproof that this was true
