  • Beginning of time/first americans

    Native americans, migration, ice age time period, and nomadic tribes.
  • Marco polo/Christopher coloumbus

    Marco polo traveled with his father through asia, that lasted 17 years.
    Christopher coloumbus studied maps of the world. He didn't have the money to fund his travels. He convinced king ferdinand and queen isabella.
  • Spanish conquistadors

    The spanish soliders mission was to conquer territories to create a vast empire of riches for spain. They explored new territories they claimed of spain.
  • Salem Witch Trials

    Starts with 3 girls in 1692. They start to have "fits" . Doctors blame it on the supernatural. After a while people start to believe him. 185 people were accused of being witches or wizards.

  • Government

    The government is a body of individuals living as members of a community. Society makes and enforces its public policies. Federal government is our national government. There are 3 branches Legislative, Executive, and Judicial. Legislative makes laws. Executive enforces the laws. Judicial interpret the laws.
  • Nine years later

    Settlers arrive, they chose a swampy penisula as their home. They called their new home jamestown after king james. Large powerful native americans are already there. They went there to look for gold. Then there food begins to run low. They turn to trading with the native americans.

    The federal government of the U.S its rules/regulations apply to the country.
    State government its rules/regulations apply to individuals in that state.
  • Ohio history

    State ordinance is 1787. Americans living in the new world get together and form the Ohio land company.

  • British Colonies

    Big "4" European empires competing for land France, Britain, Spain, Netherlands. The New England colonies, The middle colonies , The southern colonies.
  • Life in the 13 colonies

    9 out of 10 colonists lived on small family farms. Had to raise or make everything they need for survival, limited resources. Country home is a large single room with a chimney at one end. In 1750, 1 in 20 colonists lived in a city. Cities were noisy and smelly places.
  • Colonial Life

    Gentry was the wealthy. Middle class were farmers and artisans. Lower class were farmhands and other workers. At the bottom were indentured servents and slaves. The great awaking was a religious movement.
  • Civil rights

    Civil rights is a fight for quality and freedom.Jim Crow laws, laws that segregated people. Classrooms, bathrooms, water fountains, movie theaters, restaurants, transportation, and voting rights, juries and legislators. 1954 , Supreme Court case of brown vs board of education will kick start the civil rights movement in America. It ends separate but equal, segregation is illegal.Martin Luther King Jr was inspired , he will eventually become the face of the civil rights movement.
