    Jesse Owens
    Jesse Owens was a track star and a four time gold medalist in the 1936 Olympic Games. He is recognized as the greatest and most famous athlete in track and field history. He ended up running in front of Hitler at the Olympics. He ended up dying on March 31st, 1980 at age 66.
  • Desmond Doss

    Desmond Doss
    Desmond Doss was in the United States Army and was a combat medic during the war. His beliefs led him to not carry a gun because he wanted to help people not kill the enemy. He was known as a consciences objector. He saved 75 men while he was in the Army. He was received the Medal of Honor, Purple Heart, and bronze star. He died on March 23, 2006 at age 87.

    The Battle of the Atlantic was the longest lasting battle in WW2. It was a major part of Naval history. The battle occurred in many places such as the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. There were 175 warships lost and thousands of lives taken.

    During the battle of the Atlantic, the Royal Air Force defended the UK from attack. The Nazi’s plan was to get the Britain’s to agree to a peace settlement. There were also thousands of lives lost and there was major destruction.

    The Jeep was invented when the Army ordered 1500 model named BRC-40. The first Jeep was manufactured by the Bantam Motor Company in 1940. In 1945 the first civilian Jeep was launched.
  • Attack on Pearl Harbor

    Attack on Pearl Harbor
    The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military attack by the Japanese on the United States Naval base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. At 7:38 Hawaiian time the attack occurred and the Japanese dropped bombs on the base. 353 Japanese bombers carried out the attack. This was the entry of the United States into World War 2.

    The Invasion of Normandy, also known as D-day, was the largest invasion throughout WW2. The Allied forces attack the beaches of Normandy on June 6th, 1944. The attacks started at night with parachutes and went into the next morning with boats.

    The Battle of the Bulge was the last German battle of World war 2. The surprise attack caught the allied forces off guard completely. This battle resulted in America’s most casualties throughout the war.
