Nyresa wakes up after having a nightmare about Hades, the god of the underworld. -
The meeting
There were a meeting on the little greek island Thira. The meeting was about what they would do if the Persians attacked them. -
The Caldera
Nyresa and her best friend Glyka skipped the meeting with Glyka`s uncle and sailed out in the middle of the caldera. -
Moving
Nyresa`s grandmother which was a priest told Nyresa that they would move to Athen for just a while so that she could go on a pilgrimage to find the answer to what to do with the Persians. -
Festival
Right before Nyresa was going to leave Thira, there was a festival that was all about worshipping their gods.At the same time, Nyresa and the other girls at her age would finnaly be known as woman. -
Athen
Nyresa and her grandmother moves to Athen. Nyresa would be sleeping at her uncle`s house until her grandmother retrieved from the pilgrimage. -
Meeting the family
Nyresa met her uncle and his wife aswell as their daughter which was only three years older. The daugther had an illness which prevented her from being ableto walk. -
The girl
Nyresa met a girl in the center of Athen, the girl`s name was Klio.Nyresa was so amazed because when she looked at Klio, she looked exactly the same as her bestfriend from Thira. -
The boy
Nyresa met a boy through Klio, His was called Cherson but his real name was Ajax. Nyresa and Cherson were both interested in each other and started flirting alot. -
Fish and sandals
When Nyresa went to a cobbler to get her uncle`s shoes repaired, she learned that the sandals a person wore could tell alot of who they were. She also learned that at the fish qeue, was where all the powerfull men in the city went to talk about gossip. -
The Persians are coming
In Greece they have long knoned that the Persians would attack at some time, but now they knew when and where. In Athen they gathered many men to fight for Greece against the Persians. -
The big task
Nyresa was given the task to find a shield and make the Persians see it so that they would retreat to another part of Greece. This task was very important and could be the decider of who ould win the fight. -
The Battle
The day camefor the battle. The persians was almost three times as many as the people from greece. The persians decided to attack at two different places, so they split their armya nd attacked. Only about 190 people from greece died, but 4000 of the persians died. Athen and Greece had won the battle with help from Nyresa. -
In Athen
When the people in Athen heard that they won the battle, they celebrated for many days. Everyone thought that they would never win the battle,but they actually did. Cherson was in the militia and helped out in the win against the perisans. -
Marriage
When Nyresa and Cherson finnaly met again after the battle, they decided that they wanted to get married. Nyresa had to ask her grandomther for permission and she accepted it whitout any hesitation. -
Just as before
When things settled, Nyresa and Cherson and her grandmother went back to Thira to continue their lives there.
