Suzume meets Youta
Suzume also meets a man called Youta and he helps Suzume figure out that she is a shadows weaver and she wonders why he knows so much about it and he tells her that he is a shadow weaver. Youta tells her, rumour has it that shadows weavers are led to eachother by their special powers and from then on they become friends and are the only people that they can go near. -
Suzume gets away
Suzume and her cousin Aimi are running around jouyfully when they hear the ground shaking wildly underneathe them. It was on her 14th birthday that that they went to kill her and everyone in her family, although she does not know this she is still very careful. Little does she know they are about to kill her father and Suzume was to be next but she managed to get away but before Suzume and her cousin Aimi are out of the way they shoot Aimi in the middle of her back with an arrow, killing her. -

Suzume finds her mother
Four days after suzume goes into hiding with Youta she fnds her reunites with her mother again and is very happy that she is back with family for the time being. Also with her mother is Terayama-san, her dads best friend. -
Terayama-san
Suzume was filled with fear when Terayama-san tells her mother that they would be going back to his own house with him. Suzume is scared because she doesnt know Terayama-san and fears that he is not who he says he is, although her mother says it is fine Suzume is still careful when around him. -
Travelling
it was two days after they arrived at Terayama-san's house when they had to leave to a different house of his and this one wasn't in the country but in the city insead. To get to the city they had to go by boat. Suzume didn't like boats becasue she always got seasic when she travelled on them. -
The end of the sea trip
It was the end of the sea trip now and Suzume was very happy to be off the ship and on solid ground finally. During the trip Suzume was told her mother was to have a child with Terayam-san and Suzume didnt want this to happen because she didn't like him that much. One day on a walki with Terayama-san Suzume nearly fell overboard but was rescued by a person she didn't even know. -
The babies are born
it is on this day that the babies were born and it is very lucky becasue the last time that Suzumes mum had a baby which was Suzume she lost so much blood and nearly died. Also on this day Suzume had to hide away from Terayama-san with Youta. -
Suzume becomes Rin
On this day in 1894 Suzume and Youta have to come up with a new name for Suzume and her name becomes Rin and Youta gives her a completely new look so no one can recognise her anymore. -
Rin gets a job
This chapter is very exciting for Rin because Youta helps Rin get a job in the kitchen working with him so that she can be fed efficiently. Rin is very greatful and tells him that she will do anything she can do to help because she doesn't want to end up living out on the street or with someone she does not know from a grainf straw. -
The Boy
It was on this special day that Rin had gotten very excited becasue the boy that she had met on the ship was coming to the house with his dads hunting group because they got invited to come by Terayama-san. When Rin heard this she was very excited and really wanted to see him but in doing so she had to be very careful. -
The Poisonous Herb
One night when Rin has to take out the rubbish she hears her mother laughing and giggling with her maid. "Why does mother not care about me or even care that I'm gone?" This is what Rin asks herself everytime she hears her mothers voice. When looking around to see if she can find her and when she does she sees her sitting outside on a rug under the moon with he sons. Upon seeing this it angers Rin and she gets a very horrible idea and remembers what happened when her friend ate a bad herb. -
The Poisonous Herb Continuing
Once Rin had picked the plant out of the ground and pulled the roots clean of the plant she ran inside and peeled off the outer case of the plant and cut it into small pieces. Because she knew which soup was her mothers she placed the root into the soup and in the morning she woke up to a huge racket, HER MOTHER WAS DEAD! "This is all my fault!" When Youta walked in he asked her if she had did it and Rin said softly "Yes I did, but i didn know it would kill her!"
