Selena live came out shortly after Selena had bought Chris his truck for their wedding anniversary. it was nominated for a grammy and they flew out to New York with the band to receive it at the awards ceremony in Radio City Music Hall.

the Quintanilla family decided to use their new credibility and improved financial position to start Q production. a company and recording studio of their own in a former body shop near the airport in Corpus Christi. Abraham managed tis company while A.B managed the Phat Kat Groove production company.

Yolanda started off as one of selena's assistants. she was also the president of selena's fan club. she moved to Corpus Christi in 1993, and rented an apartment to live close to the Quintanilla family to assist them more. she helped on tour and with costume changes. then soon turned into a paid assistant at the boutique as well.
