Samantha's Recovery Process

  • Accident Occured

    Samantha dove into a sandbar on a family vacation in Ocean City, MD. She was air lifted to the University of Maryland Medical Center shock trauma unit.

  • Moved Units in Hospital

    Samantha was transferred from the shock trauma unit to the intensive care unit.

  • Wiggled Her Toe

    Eighteen days after the accident, Sam wiggled her right toe.

  • Transferred to Kennedy Krieger Institute

    Samantha was transferred to Kennedy Krieger Institute to start her in patient rehabilitation.

  • First Step

    Samanatha took her first steps during a rehabilitation session at Kennedy Krieger Institute.

  • Sent Home

    Samantha was sent home from in patient rehab.

  • Out-Patient Rehab Begins

    Samantha begins her out-patient rehab at Kennedy Krieger Institute.

  • Out-patient Rehab Over

    Samantha finished her out-patient rehab therapy. She is now done until July where she will begin an eight week rehab session.
