Ruth Bailey was born on Thursday the 27th of October in 1955

Began school at Geelong Central Primary School in Victoria. The school was next door to a jail.

In 1963 she became a Christian.

Moved to South Melbourne Primary in Victoria due to move in parents job.

Moved to Floreat Park Primary, Western Australia. Again this was due to her parents job.

Moved to City Beach High in Western Australia. This was her first year of highschool.

Moved schools again to John Forest Senior High School.

Moved to Norwood highschool in Adelaide at the beginning of year 12. She completed 5 TEE subjects. These were; Human Biology (credit), English (pass) , European History (credit), Classical Studies (credit) and Music (pass).

Studied a Bachelor of Arts at University of Adelaide. Majored in Music and English

On the 13th of December 1975 she married Grady Bailey.

Completed a graduates diploma in teaching (primary).

Went to The Salvation Army Training College in 1978.

In January 1980 she was commissioned as a Salvation Army Officer.

Officer at The Salvation Army Richmond Corps in Melbourne from 1980-1981.

On May 25, 1980 she had her first child, Matthew Bailey.

Her second child Rebecca was born June 29, 1982

From 1984-1986 Ruth stayed at home with her children as a devoted mother and wife. She took time away from her job at this time.

On October 31, 1984 her youngest child Timothy was born.

Social Officer at Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre in Perth, Western Australia. This was from 1986-1990.

Social Officer at Detoxfication and Assessment Programme in Perth, Western Australia from 1991-1996.

Officer at The Salvation Army Floreat Corpsin Western Australia. From 1997-2001.

In 1998 she started her Masters degree in Counselling at La Trobe University in Melbourne.

From 2001-2005 Ruth furthered her studies. She completed her Masters degree in Counselling and facilitated a Pastoral Counselling course. She then went on to commence a Bachelor of Psychology at La Trobe University in Melbourne.

In 2006 Ruth moved back to Perth with her family and was a Social Officer at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation Centre. She also facilitated Certificate IV in Chaplancey and Pastoral Counselling. Along with this she also completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Assistant Social Programme Secretary for The Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters. She again facilitated Certificate IV in Chaplancey and Pastoral Counselling. This was from 2007-2010.

Since the beginning of 2010 Ruth and herhusband have been the officers at The Salvation Army Balga Corps. She also runs a community service programme there.

In 2011 she uprgraded to a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
