    The Road to Revolution was a time period in American History where the colonists and the British had many conflicts between perky rules and rebuts by the colonists.
  • Proclamation Line

    Proclamation Line
    A line drawn by King George III after the 7 years war. Prohibited European settlement west of the Appalachian Range.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp act caused much conflict in colonial America. The British issued a federal tax on all things printed, or made from any form of paper. This tax was almost unavoidable which led many colonists to think about a revolt.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    The Quartering Act was an issued rule, or law if you will, that required colonists to house, feed, and often provide work for any troop or red back who requested it. Many colonists did not like this ruling yet were again unwillingly summoning to British rule.

    The Declaratory Act was basically a British repeal of the Stamp Act. This act stated that the taxation power in America was the same as it was in Britain. This act also caused the Sugar act to have less effect on the colonists.

    The Townshend acts were a series of taxes placed on the colonists in 1767. The British imposed taxes on imported goods such as glass, leads and tea. These taxation movements caused bitterness in the colonial minds which would eventually lead to revolts.

    The Boston Massacre was a major turning point in American history. This incident involved American colonists taunting red coats, which included hitting them with rocks, snowballs, and even clubs. The British grew frustrated and tried to resist shooting but at the end of the night 5 Americans were dead, this led to many further disputes among the two groups.

    The Committee of Correspondence formed a rally of colonial opposition, which refuted British policy and established a political union within the Thirteen Colonies. The result of this rally led to a stronger central government among colonial America.

    The tea act was a forceful act of taxation set by the British. Forced all colonists to be taxed on all tea.

    The Boston Tea party was an act of rebellion on the Tea Act. Boston colonists were upset and dumped hundreds of gallons of tea into the Boston Harbor

    These were a series of laws passed by the British Government after the Boston Tea Party. The main effect of this law was the removal of Massachusetts self-government.

    The "Shot Heard Around the World" is a theoretical statement that basically emphasizes a shot that caused great conflict and dispute around the world. British forces met a group of American colonists at a stock pile of ammunition and to this day it is unknown who took the first shot, but in that small battle 8 Americans were dead, 8 more wounded.
