Road to the Revolution Timeline

  • Period: to

    Enlightment

    Citation
The enlightment was an "age of philisophers". The era where thinking/pnering was the thing to do. The enlightment shed some light on to the colonists into finding a new land; to fulfill their dreams of different freedoms. The rating for this would be a 9, this started this "domino effect" into where "everything" began.
  • Period: to

    French & Indian War

citation pf description The French and Indian War started pushed the colonists into being alied with Britian. Then after the colonists won, Britian thought that the colonists were still under their control. This event has to get a rating of 8.5, because along with the enlightment this also started off the feud between the colonists and Britian.

    Proclaimation Line of 1763
    PICTURE
The Proclaimation Line of 1763 was a proclaimation that Britian created to keep the colonists from traveling/exploring any farther than the Appalachian Mountains. It was mostly for their protaction from the Native Americans. The rating I ould give this would have to be a 2. Even though the King said what he wants to be done, the colonists totally ignored

  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
PICTUREThe stamp act ouccred due to the colonists boycotting the British's goods, specifically their paper products. Now, because of the boycott the act was repealed. I believe that it is around a 8 because even after they boycotted the paper bags, they had to dump the tea into the bay. Even though they threw the tea into the harbor Britian was very offended and got angry from the colonists' rebellion.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
CitationPICTUREThe Boston Massacre wasn't really a "massacre" since only five people died in this tragedy. It was a battle between a group of protesting colonist and british troops. I would have to rates this a
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    PICTURECitation
The Tea Act was the King's idea to make the colonists pay extra tax on something very necessary. It was put out there to punish the colonists for buying things from foregin countries. I would have to rate this a 5 only because after Britian taxed the colnists, they rebeled and dumped it all into the harbor. So much for effective. If anything the o
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    PICTURECitation
The Boston Tea Party was a the colonists' reaction to Britian for excessively taxing their favorite drink. Instead of peacefully boycotting or starting a nasty massacre, the ydecided it was time toget their message stuck in the King's head. I ould rate this a 9, because after the King found out that

    Intolerable Acts

I Intolerable Acts was Britian's reaction to the colonists' reaction. In a way it wa sort of a domino effect after the colonists decided they wnated to govern themselves. I would have to rate this an 8, because this really ticked-off the colonists. They believed that Britian was out of their minds. After they tried to put a stunt to g

There was a meeting between 12 delegates from 12 states. As they gathered they wrote a letter to King George the III, They politey and sophisticatedly tried to persuade him to repeal his Intolerable Act, and of course he did no such thing. I would rate this a soild 9, because with the delegates coming together
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord

The Lexington and Concord battle was between the "minute men" and British troops. Sadly the British won bot hthe Lexington and Concord battle. Even though the colonists trudged through two defeats, they still didn't give up. This event gets a rating of 5 only because this battleis insignificant, besides the fact the George Washington was the leader of these battles. Also the

    Second Continental Congress

The Second meeting of the Continental Congress was now about discussing the battles in Massachusetts. It was a very debateable amount of delegates supporting and not supporting independence. The majority of the delegates had voted for independence, so they formed a committee. That committee wrote a declaration. This would have to be a 10 rating for me since t

The very famous DOI wa swritten by Franklin and Jefferson, but their primary ideas came fromLocke and Rousseau. In this document they listed 27 ways that Britian was a great example of a tyranny. The DOI has to be a 10 rating for me. It set the rules and guide lines that America lives under. It set the foundation of our country. WIth that said
