    The Writing of the Declaration of Independence and it's Grievances.
    It was a document written to impose the taxes that the British had put on goods being transported to and through America. The document was written to help put an end to the British empowerment. The British thought they could be slick and take money by imposing unfair taxes.
  • The passing of the Intolerable Acts

    The passing of the Intolerable Acts
    After the Boston tea party, the British Government was furious and wanted someone to pay. No one took responsibility so they punished all of their people with the Intolerable Acts as a way to rule out the offenders. They passed 5 acts that would be one of the final stands against the British Rule.

    The revolution happened when The United States attempted to get way from Great Britain's rule. With the assistance of France, The United States would go on to overthrow Britain and gain it's independence once and for all. It would be one of America's first wars being inexperienced and all they should have lost, but Americ's courage and bravery preserved through the wraith of the British.

    Common Sense was a book written by Thomas Paine. It encouraged people to fight for what was right and stand up to the British Government. It went over what the British did and why we as people of America should care. Thomas had a vision for an America free of Britain's rule or power. And that vision had, of course, come true.
  • The signing of the Declaration of Independence

    This is when John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin. Signed the Declaration of Independence, it was not approved by Congress until July 4th, which is now known as Independence Day. The Declaration of Independence was a document that was basically breaking the United States off of Great Britain. Britain didn't really like that at all. I'm sure at first they thought it was a joke. But boy were they wrong in every sense of the word.

    The goal in mind was to keep and maintain the Soveringhty of the 13 states. And keep Independence for it's people.

    August 31, 1786 – June 1787 / Shay's Rebellion happened because of the Governments intrest to keep taxing while also increasing the taxes on its people. People were horribly in debt as it was, they could not let this happen. A group known as Shay's Rebellion rebelled against the Government and its officials.

    The start of the Constitutional Convention
    It was a convention held in the same building that the Declaration of Independence was wrote. It has a lot of significance because of the signing of the document that it can be looked like a historical landmark in American History. George Washington was also elected President of the United States. The Convention was looked at as a kind of coming together of people kind of like the coming together of the American People in the fight against British Rule.
