They saw the 342 chests of tea that belonged to the British East India Colony, they decided to put a stop to it. Boston Harbor was closed until the entire shipment of tea was paid off, and cleaned. Town meetings were not allowed and General Gage was named governer of Massachusetts. They banned everything that could casue havoc on the port.
