    Proclamation of 1763
    This procalmation did not allow colonists to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains.The British goverment feared the conflict between colonistsand native Americans would lead to another war.They also could not afford to pay British troops to defend the western lands.Colonists were enraged by this proclamation because they felt they had won the right to settle in the Ohio River Valley after winning the French and Indian War.

    The act was a coast saving measure that required the colonist to quarter or house British soldiers and provide them with supplies.
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    The kings fiance minister, Charls townshend told parliment that he had a way to raise revenue in the colonist. Parliment passed his plan known as townshend act.

    Protests against the Tea Act took palce all over the colonist. In Boston, the sons of Liberty organized what came to be know as the Boston Tea Party.

    Massachsetts colony and to serve as a warning to other colonies. The British called these law the Coercive Acts but they were so harsh that the colonist called them the Intolerable Acts.
