    Plessy v. Ferguson was the issue Homer Plessy faced when refusing to sit in a Jim Crow car which inturn caused Caucasians blood to boil. When in court, there were several debates as to whether or not it interferred with the 13th and 14th ammendment. This also angered the african-americans because they Considered this act unconstitutional.
  • BROWN V BOARD OF EDUCATION

    During this time there was a lot of segregation and inequality everywhere even neighbourhoods. Brown did not think it was right for seperation through public schools so decided to take it to court. Brown eventually won the case because it was unconstitutional.
  • MURDER OF EMETT TILL

    This event would enfutiorate african-american people for the murder of the 14 year old for "flirting" with a white girl. This angered the people because there was no evidence to this event. Another reason why he would of died was because in this time it was bad for blacks to even look at whites.

    This event was created by different civil rights group to promote equality. With over 200,000 Americans marching in Washington D.C., people made it known that segregation is a serious issue. This act would later lead to being granted more freedom.

    Malcolm X was a well known civil rights leader For his "an eye for an eye" theory. He believed in the Nation of Islam which supported self defense if neccessary. Malcolm X would do alot for the people of black muslims. Although many though he was violent he made lots of achievements.
