The First Move
A. Richard (age 16) is sitting a volleyball game and realizes the new girl he's seen around school is right below him alone. He moves next to her and introduces himself to get to know her.
B. In Erickson's third stage, Initiative vs Guilt.
C. Taking the initiative to talk or speak to some one for the first time (initiative) or to regret not making that move to get to know them or let them get to know you. -
Making it Official
A. After many years of dating Richard and Shelby wake up to their big day to commit to marriage together. On this day Richard and Shelby will commit to a life time of memories and adventures.
B. This is Erickson's fifth stage, intimacy vs isolation.
C. Where they choose between being emotionally close to each other in a committed relationship (intimacy) or keeping to oneself and not committing to each other. -
The Last Breath
A. As Richard lays next to Shelby in her bed he cries while holding her hand knowing she is very sick and not going to make it much longer. Although he knows they created a beautiful family of 4 children and 9 grandchildren. He knew she had few regrets in life she would be leaving behind and loved him greatly.
B. This is Erickson's eighth stage, Ego Integrity vs Despair.
C. the satisfaction with ones life when they pass on (ego integrity) or the regret of ones life while they lived (despair)
