  • Lexington

    The redcoats reached Lexington April 19 1775. They say 70 minutemen lined up that could help them. British commander told the minutemen to drop any weapons. Eight minutemen died and 10 got injured, the war between the minutemen and redcoats only lasted 15 min.
  • Concord

    The British marched to Concord on April 19 1775. Became a slaughter when 3000-4000 minutemen started to fire behind stones and trees. A lot of british men died.
  • Philadelphia

    May of 1775 Colonial leaders called the second continental congress in Philly. They had disagreement and agreements in that conference. Came to an agreement of making the colonial militia the Continental Army.
  • Bunker Hill

    June 17, 1775 Gage sent 2,400 soldiers up the hill. They held fire and wouldn't give up, the colonist lost 450 men. Was the deadliest battle of the war.
  • Trenton

    Washington led 2,400 men across the Delaware river until they got to Trenton New Jersey. Wanted a early victory. Happened during 1776.
  • New York

    The British sailed into New York in the summer of 1776. Had about 32,000 soldiers with them.
  • Saratoga

    American troops arrived and surrounded Burgoyne at Saratoga on October 17,1777. One of the most important event of the war. The capture of Burgoyne made the French think America was capable of winning the war.
  • Valley Forge

    February 1778 more than 2000 soldiers died in the camp. They were very low on food and supplies. Was in the winter so it was cold for them.
  • Marquis De Lafayette

    Arrived to offer help during the war in February 1778. Ask the French for reinforcement and backup. With so much help the Army became so much stronger.
  • Yorktown

    British general moved his army of 7,500 onto the peninsula and camped at yorktown. This occured in the early 1781. His plan was to join Clintons forces.
  • Treaty of Paris

    In September 1783, the delegates signed the Treaty Of Paris. That gave the U.S its independence. Set a lot of boundaries to the new nation
