    The sugar act was law that put taxes on sugar and other things that were imported by Americans. The colonists were not happy about this because before the tax was cheaper and now the price has been raised. They would smuggle sugar from other countries.     Quartering Act
    The Quartering Act was an act where colonists would provide housing and food for soldiers. The colonists reacted negatively to the act as they didn't want for soldiers to live with them, and they were scared of them.     The stamp Act
    The stamp act was a stamp that was a tax on paper, so anything that colonists bought made of paper, they also had to pay for the stamp on it, and the prices varied for every item. The colonists were very outraged when they heard of it, there was even violence, such as attacks on the homes of tax collectors. Benjamin Franklin convinced the government to drop the act.

  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    The Townshend Act was an act for taxes, taxes for imports of paper, paint, glass, lead, oil, and tea. The "colonists organized boycotts of British good to pressure Parliament to repeal the Townshend Acts." The british government thought it was a good idea but turned out otherwise.
