President Johnson's Impeachment Trial
The trial of president Johnson went may-march. Johnson was impeached for violating the Tenure of Office Act as he was trying to reconstruct the Country. Johnson was one vote short of being removed from office. -

Hiram Revels was elected into the U.S. Senate and became the first black senator. -
