    Autonomy Versus Shame and Doubt
    Jayce is standing in the bathroom looking at the training toilet his parents have placed in there for him. This is about his fifth or sixth time in this situation. Instead of his parents helping this time, he uses the bathroom. Jayce is in the Autonmony Versus Shame and Doubt stage of his life, according to Erickson. This is the time in a person's life when they question if they are able to accomplish tasks on their own or if they are still needing the help from others.
  • Industry Versus Inferiority

    Industry Versus Inferiority
    Monica holds her mother's hand as she nears are large, unfamiliar building. With her backpack on her back she enters a room filled with 15 other children her age. She meets the person who will be a huge influence on her life for the next year. Monica is in the Industry versus Inferiority stage of her life. In this stage she will grow intellectually, cognitively and socially. She will learn to read and write, along with many other skills, with her teachers as her guides.
  • Intimacy versus Isolation

    Intimacy versus Isolation
    Martha and Tommy are on a blind date at a restaurant on Valentine’s Day. They are nervous but get a good vibe from each other. Both of them are looking for something more in their lives, someone to love and grow old with. Martha and Tommy are in the Intimacy versus Isolation stage of their lives. They are now willing to open up their lives to each other in the hopes that a successful relationship may lead to a new chapter together.
  • Ego Integrity verus Despair

    Paul sits down with his grandhildren one afternoon. They being to ask him questions about his life and all he had accomplished. It gets Paul Think about his journey on this earth and realizes that he really did live his life to the fullest. Paul is in the Ego Integrity versus Despair stage of his life. This is when people who are older look back on all they have done and really think that they made the most in their life, or realize they did not accomplish all they were hoping too.
