    1476- William Caxton introduced printing press which was brought from Belgium. Caxton brought people over from Belgium because people in England didn't know how to use the printing press.
    Problem: people from Belgium did not know English.
    No dictionary, no books to refer to spelling, so they spelt words in their own will. People spelt things accordingly - how it sounds to them.
    Printing press was made from wood - time consuming, expensive, backwards printing.
    Thorn disappeared due to P press
