The Treaty of Versailles was a written peace document and signed at the end of World War I. The Allied and Associated Powers signed it as well as Germany. It was signed in the Hall of Mirrors in the Pallace of Versailles. Territorial agreements and compensation by Germany were described in the treaty.

The Washington Naval Conference was an international conference called by the United States. They wanted to decrease the amount of naval arms and figure out security of the waters. The conference leads to several treaties.

The Beer Hall Putsch was Hitler's attempt to start a violent uprising in Germany againt the Weimar Republic. Hitler and his Nazi Party decided that leaders should join in the revolution, but on the march towards Munich, the Nazis were met by gunfire from the police. Hitler was given five years in prison, but only served eight months.

Dawes Plan was an agreement for Germany to pay for post-WWI reparations. The plan was introduced by an American financier, Charles Dawes, who created a report on the fact if Germany should or should not attain Liability for the damage caused in WWI.

In 1922, Lenin had become ill and went under surgery to remove a bullet from his neck due to an assasination in 1918. He had recovered but then fell ill again, he then decided to go back into political activity but then was paralyzed. After, he wrote several articles, but suffered through a stroke in 1923. Hirohito was the longest reigning monarch in Japan's history, he became emperor following his fathers death. At the time Japan was democratic but then turned toward ultra-nationalism and militarism. Hirohito portrayed himself powerless, but many believe he was active in the war effort.

The Wall Street Crash was the stock market crash where there was a large decline in U.S. stock market values that contributed to the Great Depression(1930s). The rapid expansion of the stock market in the late 1920s led to the crash, people would buy stock on credit, but there would be no money behind the stocks so the bank lost all money.

Dachau was the first German concentration camp, it was begun five weeks after Adolg Hitler became chancellor. The first people sent there were Social Democrats, Communists, and other political prisoners. The inmates died of disease, malnutrition, physical oppression, and execution. Many were also sent to extermination camps in the areas of Poland occupied by Germany.
