The Monowheel
The mono-wheel was an invention thought to revolutionize modern transportation. Not only this, but it had been considered to be a unique U.S. military vehicle mounted with machine guns. During the 1930s it became somewhat popular and intrigued many people. Unfortunately the mono-wheel never really took off. It was originally a pedal controled vehicle, but was turned into engine power in the 1930s. I chose this because it is a laughably useless vehicle for the technological era it was created. -

The Spanish Civil War
The spanish Civil War took place from 1936-39. The war was sparked when Jose Clavo Sotelo was assassinated by the Guardia de Asalto. The Spanish Civil War is widely known for being a testing ground for new weapons and technology for Nazi Germany. It came to an end in 1939 Nationalists government of Spain was recognized by Britain. Gas Proof Pram
In prep for the inevitable war with Germany, F. W. Mills took this opportunity to create something "great". The gas proof pram was created to protect small children and toddlers in case of gas attacks. The children would be placed on a small bed, and the lid would be fastened over top of it. The child would be given fresh air VIA a air filter placed on the top of the pram. I chose this because it was an item in preparation for WW2 -

Gone with the wind was an overwhelmingly successful movie. In the box office it had made $198,676,459 dollars (Adjusting for inflation is $1,749,706,500). Not only this, it had been nominated, and won many awards during Academy Awards. Such as best picture, best actress (Vivien Leigh), best director (Victor Fleming) etc. This filmis one of the most memorable films in american history.

Operation Marita (Greece Invasion)
Operation Marita was a World War II battle that occurred on the Greek mainland and in southern Albania. The battle was fought between Allied and Axis forces. Adolf Hitler decided to attack Greece, due to it determining the course of the war. Germany invaded Yugoslavia and Greece on April 6 1941. The Greek and Allied forces were unable to deploy sufficient troops in any one area to halt the German attack due to being outnumbered. I chose this because it was an event that set ww2 into motion. -
The V1 Cruise Missile
The V1 is known as world’s first operational cruise missile. It first flew in 1942. It was being used against Britain in large numbers by 1944. It had a range of 250km, and had a 840kg warhead. It Reached top speed of 398 mph. It was powered by a pulse engine. The Nazis built nearly 10,000 missiles. Only 25% of these missiles hit the targets. -

Robinson was the first black baseball player to be signed into the mlb.he later broke stereotypes and went down in history as not only as the first African American baseball player, but also one of the greatest players of all time
