    Reed pens

    Reed pens
Reed pens were created by the Egyptians. They were made out of a single piece of reed or bamboo plant. It was shaped into a square shape with a split towards the end. To use it they would dip the pen into ink and ink would have to retain on the split towards the end to have a good outcome. The first type of writing it was used for was papyrus. They were later on replaces for their lack of not maintaining a sharp point and stiffness.

    Quill Pens

Quill pens were created in Spain by Europeans. They were made out of feathers of birds like turkeys, geese and swans. The feathers would be dried, and then the end of the feather would be cut with a knife to sharpen the tip so it could then be dipped into ink to fill the hollow of the feather. Quill pens were the writing instrument for nearly as long as 12 centuries.

    Steel & Fountain pens

Steel point pens were also known as Dip pens or Nib pens. They were pretty similar to the quill pens on the way they worked but were much cheaper and had a better grip which made it sturdier. The Fountain pens were basically the Vo.2 of steel pens. They basically just had an ink barrel which caused them not to be dipped in ink regularly.
  • Ballpoint pens

    Ballpoint pens
Ballpoint pens was basically the climax of pens. It was the first to be used with quick-dry ink. The design was introduced by a journalist from Argentina named Laszlo. In the design of the pen the key of it all was on the metal ball on the tip. This small metal ball stops the ink from drying out and make the ink flow smoothly.
