    Feyerabend's Turn to Philosophy

Feyerabend begins to spend time in philosophy lectures. As he attends these lectures his interest in the philosophy of science grows. He is influenced by Popper, The Vienna Circle, Wittgenstein, and Bohm.
  • Against Method

    Against Method
Feyerabend publishes his book Against Method.
In his book, Feyerabend argues that science has no set model.
He argues that if we look at discoveries throughout history, (specifically at the works of Galileo) no model or rules were followed. If rules or a model had been followed, the discovery would not have been made.
He believed that "anything goes" with science and there should be no rules to follow.
  • Science in a Free Society

    Science in a Free Society
In this book, Feyerabend extends his argument to include the function of science in society today. He critiques the prestige that science holds over western society and declares that people must now be set free from the hold of science.
He believed that science was just another form of human creativity and should be treated like any other art.
  • Influence

While it may not seem that Feyerabend has influenced modern philosophy (his philosophy is not one many hold too) he is taught in many classes and every philosophy of science student will learn his name and his teachings. They will come to know him as the wild man of the philosophy science and the anarchist of science. [Link text}(https://youtu.be/HEMD5-5VjeY)
