BACKGROUND1.Melody is born
Melody (the main character) is born, she is disabled because, she is mute, and she's in a wheelchair because her body can not balance or move the way the way that she wants it to. Even though she is mute, she is very intelligent and has an eidetic memory (also known as a photographic memory) -
RISING ACTION2.Melody is taken to the hospital
Melody is taken to the hospital, by her mom to figure out if she was ready to become enrolled in school. The doctor that Melody went to asked her many questions, she answered all of them correct, but the doctor was so stupid that he thought that the answeres that she gave were incorrect. When the session was over, the doctor told Melody's mom that Melody was retarded. Melody's mother knew that this was not true, and decided that she was still going to enrolled her in Spaulding Elementary School. -
CLIMAX3. Melody is taken to school
Knowing that Melody is not retarded, her mother enrolls her in Spaulding Elementary School. There she goes to school with other "normal" children, but "learns" in a classroom eith other disabled kids. Her homeroom is room H-5. -
CLIMAX4.Melody's school years
Every year Melody "learns" the same stuff, this is SO boring for Melody because, after all, she does in fact have an eidetic memory, so everything that she is being "taught" she already knows. This cycle goes on and on through out many school years. -
FALLING ACTION5. Inclusion classes
Starting in fifth grade Melody starts attending inclusive classes. These classes are classes where disabled kids get to attend class with "normal" children. During this time Melody meets a new friend whos name is Rose. She also meets two mean girls named Molly and Claire, who just happen to be best friends. They are always making fun of Melody, and her behavior. -
FALLING ACTION7. Whiz Kids competition
Mr. Dimming, the history teacher announces the Whiz Kids competition. This competition will allow eight kids to have the oppurtunity, of repesenting their school, in a "knowledge-like" fashion. Mr. Dimming has a practice test for the class, and Melody got all of the answers correct. Mr. Dimming, thinking that the questions were to easy if Melody could pass it, he makes fun of her right there in class. Everyone laughs at her, even Rose. -
FALLING ACTION6. Melody's need of wanting to communicate
Melody's personal school aide, Catherine, helps in searching for the machine that will help Melody to communicate with others, without having to point to words. While searching, Catherine, and Melody find the perfect machine......the MediTalker. -
FALLING ACTION7. Whiz Kids state competition
The Whiz Kids state competition! By this time Melody has recieved her MediTalker, she is now competing. After many rounds Melody's team......WINS! After, Melody and the people on her team have dinner, when you first walk in there are....stairs, but Melody's mom finds out a way to go up, and she does. Later on at dinner Claire evens.......Throws Up! -
FALLING ACTION8. Melody and the not-so whiz kids national competition
Melody and her mom plan before-hand, theyplan how and when they are going to the airport, to get to Washington D.C., where the Whiz Kids finals will be held. But instead of the whole team going, everyone does except for......Melody. When they finally get to the airport they come to find out that it is raining in D.C. and that no plans ae allowed to fly until later on that night. Also while there both Melody and her mom and other cloose friends and/or family members that.... the team went to -

breakfast together, and went to D.C. without her. Melody is heart-broken and goes home. -

but she just doen't understand. So Melody's mom, backs up and up and up, until BUMP! Penny is ran over by her mom, in a car. -
RESOLUTION10. Back to school
Melody is back to school, after knowing that Penny is not severly hurt or killed and is apologized to from the Wiz Kids team who, lost in ninth place, and Melody realizes that what already happened has happened and to let bygones be bygones, and that even though she is disabled, she's still as special as everyone else. -
FALLING ACTION9. Penny ran over
Penny, Melody's baby sister is ran over by her mom. This started when Melody insisted on going to school that day, that rainy rainy day. When Melody's mom finally got into the car with Melody, she (Melody) noticed one thing... her backpack was missing. So she looked up and saw that her dad was on the porch, with Penny, holding up her bag, so that Melody's mom could come and get it. When Melody's dad goes back inside, Penny doesn't, she opens the door and runs out, Melody tries to warn her mom
