Nullification Crisis

  • 1824 Tariff

    The protective tariff of 1824 caused items iron constructed items, cotton and wool along with agricultural items that was supposed to protect the American industry.
  • Tariff of 1828/Tariff of Abominations

    Passed to protect northern industry in the United States. European manufacturers began to lower their prices so that Americans would be more inclined to purchase their goods. As a result, European trade suffered.
