Beginning
Finn is on his porch with his buddy Mathew and his dog Dylan just chilling outside. Moments later a girl named Johanna in her twenties comes up to the boys and they start talking. She said she she would stay with them until someone comes back. She first talks to them about how she has breast cancer and that she is bald but she has a red wig. But then later she talks to them about making a garden and she sees if Finn and Mathew are up too the task. Finn did not want to accept at first but he did. -
Starting with the garden
Finn does start on the garden but he first had to lawn mow it first and it seems that Finn already wants to give up but he does not. He does finish lawn mowing the yarn but he did not like it. after he was done cleaning up, the next day he encounters Johanna in his house speaking with his father. Johanna gives Finn a binder that has notes that would help Finn with the garden. Later on Finn gets his first note from Dylan thinking that he wrote it. the note said "You're not as ugly as you think." -
Getting Further
After Finn has been trying to work with the garden Johanna suggests that he should go to this meeting that could get him more information on gardens. After that Johanna makes a list for Finn on a camping trip that they could do on the weekend. Finn does go on the trip but when he tries to go back to camp he gets kind of lost with Mathew in swamp and they missed out all the fun activities that were planned for camp. After the weekend Finn came with rashes from poison ivy he may have touched. -
Surprises
Finn sees Johanna coming out of a car and she seemed quite ill. She goes and explains to Finn that was her boyfriend just dumping her. As Johanna did seem ill she puked on Finn but they get her to bed right away. She fell asleep quickly as Finn is trying to get towels for Johanna an clean clothes for everybody. The next day Johanna's sister Fernanda comes and visit. She explains that she is an exchange student kind of like Johanna. -
Raising Money
Johanna is feeling better and she starts explaining to Finn that she has joined a triathlon. she says she has until the summer to train for the event. She also explains that she has to try and raise ten thousand dollars by then. She asks Finn for help to raise that money and he does. Finn goes to a construction area and he explains to the men working there that they are trying to raise money for help with breast cancer. almost immediately the construction men gave finn $1040. -
Irony
Time has passed by and Finn has not really raised anymore money but later one day he accidentally broke a pink plate and Johanna had a strange idea. So Johanna goes to the store to buy more pink plates and she helps Finn smash all the pink plates. It was explained that the idea was to make the symbol of the pink ribbon for cancer. Besides making the pink ribbon symbol he was surprised when Johanna said she found Finn a date but he had to deal with it anyways. -
More Irony
It is very close to the time of the event and Johanna says she feels terrible but she tells Finn that she does not want to give up on the race because of all the spent time training could not be wasted. But Johanna could not compete in the races so the craziest idea of Finn and Mathew was for them to compete for her and they did. -
The Best of it
Finn and Mathew agreed for each of them to do a part of the race. Finn would do one race, Mathew would do one and start the last one as Finn would finish it. After all that adrenaline they did it and they won. Finn later then gets the idea of going somewhere to swim and have a party to celebrate but its an area where no one is allowed but they went anyways. Johanna then explains how she raised more then $10,000 in one day and says she wrote the notes. The notes from the dog which Finn has kept.
