  • 1968 Language and Mind

In Language and Mind Chomsky states that an abstract system should be developed to explain the relationships between linguistics and behavior. This relates to scientific inquiry because Empiricists must communicate the physical attributes of objects and the motions of those objects in relation to other objects. To communicate effectively, a standardized system must be created. Further, the system itself must be explicable and transmissible.
  • 1988 Manufacturing Consent

Manufacturing Consent explains the role of propaganda in modern society. Propaganda is a major factor in the dissemination of disinformation, misinformation, lies, etc... These transgressions are anti-thetical to scientific inquiry. Scientists work to establish reliable statements about reality. The reliable statements are then applied in order to solve physical problems. Noam Chomsky frequently helped to expose liars and false information.
