    General Robert E. Lee finally surrendered marking the end of the Civil war. The Union came out victorious. After the war ended the Reconstruction era began.

    Lincoln went to see a play and ended up getting shot. John Wilkes Booth snuck into the viewing area and shot Lincoln in the head. Lincoln died shortly afterwards.
