    17 year old Sylvianne Jeam stands before her wealthy family with huge news. She was almost 3 weeks pregnant at only 17, but she couldn’t do it. She couldn’t stand in front of her mother and tell her so instead she stole a bundle of money and her grandmother’s old golden necklace, she wrote a note hidden in her bedding and left. She did not say she was pregnant just that she was leaving and for them not to come find her.

    Slyvianne watches as France slips away form her vision. She had brought with her bread, money, and the golden chain around her neck. She had been working in a factory to raise more money for when she arrives in New York.

    The ships took longer than it was ever suppose to but they were finally here, America, the land of the free. Slyvianne nether injuried or sick passed through ellis island in a breeze. She finds a hotel and settles down for the evening in the morning she would find work and a place to sell the golden necklace.

    After about a month in New York Sylvianne was able to find a mill that provided her with work and housing, the only problem was that it barley payed. Sylvianne now eager to leave New York was looking for a way out of this mess when she meet Lacey a southern chritian who came to the north with her husband and two children to essape her life with her parents. Lacey had introduced herself at a local market on a fine saturday morning,

    When Lacey had seen Sylvianne a young very pregnant girl at the market she knew she needed to help. It was god's way of keeping her busy she explains. Lacey and her family were already planning to leave New York by the end of the month and find free land somewhere in the West, and Slyvianne was welcome to come along for the ride.

    Sylviannes stomache had grow alot in the past month and Lacey loves to joke with her
    "You sure there ain't two of them babies in there?" she would tease.
    "Well lets hope not" she would usually say back
    Henery Lacey's husband would be awake all night taking them to Oklahoma becasue they didn't get a good start at the beginning. That night Henery went off track and by morning they were hours form the road. They were lost and needed help. Now they would never be there in time for the race.

    With little time to waste the group had to act fast if they wanted to make it to the race. Instead of riding back to the road the rode on into a small town where they asked for direction to another route to Oklahoma. They showed them another way and in no time they proup was back on track.

    Sylvianne felt sharp pains coming from her huge stomache. It was a cool night and they were reaching their final destination no time to spare for something like this, but Sylvianne had no way of controling the pain. She woke Lacey up and in a panic Lacey prepared the long hours to come. When the sky lightened Sylvianne was also welcomed with grace and happiness for she was nowa mother of a baby girl named Charlotte after her great grandmother.

    The family had arrived in Oklahoma with only hours to spare before the big race, but in the end they won a wonderful patch of land with perfect soil and far away from any others. It was the perfect place to start over a raise a family. Sylvianne had posed as Lacey sister and now they all were living together under one grand roof, Who could ask for anything else. Sylvianne felt like the luckiest girl alive when in the end she was with a loving family that would take care of Charlotte and her.
