My History with Technology

  • First computer

    First computer
It was a basic computer. We mostly used it just to "type" on the black screen and play ping pong. The printer itself was the ancient type that had the correllated edges that you had to rip off afterward.
  • First Walkman

    First Walkman
For my 11th birthday, I recieved a cassette walkman with the Pocahontas Soundtrack on cassette tape. It was the first piece of music that I had ever owned! It got playe a lot.
  • Computer with AOL Dial-up

    Computer with AOL Dial-up
I remember when we only had 200-2000 minutes availabe to go on the internet in a month. We can probably surpass that monthly allowance in a week nowadays easy! It also made it so you couldn't use the phone line at the same time. Communication was key :)
  • CD/Cassette Tape Boombox

    CD/Cassette Tape Boombox
I was just starting to get interested in music beyond all the disney shows I had grown up with and being able to play my own CD's or tape my favorite songs from the radio to a cassette tape was amazing!
  • First Cell Phone

    First Cell Phone
My first cell phone had no capibilities besides calling. It was a prepay phone that I left in my car for emergencies only. Sometimes one call could cost up to $10, so I used it sparingly.
  • First Laptop

    First Laptop
My first laptop was a Dell Computer. I had never used a laptop before and had the hardest time getting control of it at first. It only connected to the internet through the phone line (dial-up).
  • 2nd Cell Phone

    2nd Cell Phone
When I was a freshman in college, I finally got a "regular" cell phone. It didn't even have caller id at first. The fact that i could save friends and families number in it was amazing. It was also the time when i stopped memorizing everyone's number. :)
  • First Camera Phone

    First Camera Phone
I remember when this was the wave of the future. Now, we could have a phone AND a camera. It was amazing! The only problem was when the phone broke/stopped working and you lost all the pictures.
  • First Smartphone

    First Smartphone
My phone before this had very limited use to the internet. The first time I used it, I couldn't put it down for weeks. I was addicted!
  • iPhone

    iPhone
After a series of different cell phones, once I came across the iPhone. I will never go back. I have never done that well with technology but this phone is the easiest thing I have ever used!
