Mother Teresa was born on August 26, 1910. Her parents were Nikolle and Dranafile Bojaxhiu. She was baptized a day later in Skopje, Macedonia taking the name Agnes.

Mother Teresa was beautified by Pope John Paul II at St Peter’s Basilica. Since then, she has been known as Blessed Mother Teresa. The Roman Catholic Church designated Blessed Mother Teresa as the patron saint of World Youth Day.
