  • Albany Movement

    A protest, which was a boycott, that tried to promote desegregation, but failed. It tookmany to jail but thought lessons on how a protest is properly held.
  • March on Washington

    Hundreds of thousands of Americans in Washington D.C. marched to Lincoln Memorial as a protest against racism. The very next day, MLK Jr. gave his famous "I have a dream" speech.
  • Civil Rights Act

    This law enforced that discrimination based on religion, race, and other characteristics was unconstitutional. This helped end racism and integreation was boosted.

    Lester Maddox is elected governor of Georgia. He denied service to blacks in a restraunt in Atlanta, againt the Civil Rights Act. He then decided to keep his job so he appointed blacks to political offfice.
  • Maynard Jackson - Mayor of Atlanta

    Maynard Jacksion is elected as Mayor for Atlanta. He majorly increased public transport (hence the name of the airport Hartsfield-Jackson).
