  • Second Industrial Revolution

    With the second industrial revolution you had Britian and The US as the juggernauts of the industry. Steel, Chemical, Electricity was all booming businesses. The Main 3 advances you had were the creation of the Railroad, Rotary Printing Press and Medicine. The reason why this is so eventful is because that those 3 things are still used in the present time.
  • Russo-Turkish War Starts

    The Russo-Turkish War was between the Ottoman Empire and The Russian Empire. By the time the War had started the Ottomans have been one of the most dominant empires Europe had seen. But with Russian Expansion toward the Black Sea threatened the Ottomans stability. This war saw the Sovereignty of Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania, Montenegro.
  • Spanish- American War Start

    The start of the Spanish-American war was because of America starting to go try and expand their lands. This war only went for a few months the outcome of this war had America gain US control Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippines. You also had Spain losing control over Cuba. This in theory made President Theodore Roosevelt have the idea to create the Panama canal.
  • Boxer Rebellion

    The Boxer Rebellion was an effort to further destabilized Qing China. The Qing dynasty started in the 17th century, and they were in control for over 2 centuries. The Opium Wars happen, and this made China very weak, With the final blow mainly being the boxer rebellion as they wanted to get rid of foreign rule in China.
  • Exposition Universelle de 1900

    This was a World fair that was held in Paris from April-November, It showcased technological and cultural innovations from 40 countries and over 20 colonies. This event attracted over 50 million viewers it had exhibits that featured diesel fuel, Eletric lights, and other Technolgies. This event was very historic as it showed what every nation was good at.
  • Wilhelm the 2nd questions Africa

    A few months before WW1 started you had Germany look into what was going on in Africa. He started to question the French and the British because they didn't help Russia with a War against Japan. Wilhelm also kept building more and more naval ships to be neck and neck with Britian.
  • The Start of the Great War

    On June 28th 1914 the world as we knew would change, The shot heard around the world. Archduke Franz Ferdinnad gets assassinated by Bosnian Gavrilo Princip. This then caused Austria-Hungary to put the blame on Serbia and the black hand a group from Serbia. Austria-Hungary would need Germanys help if Russia sided with Serbia, This would be the start of what is know as the great war.
  • World War 1

    The war is at a stalemate as you have the new idea and or strategy of trench warfare. This was only used in World War 1 as it really wasn't a good thing as the trench caused so many people to get diseases and die. With the trench warfare being used no side could get a better advantage as they would just keep building trenches. The Allied powers have greater numbers and financial resources and also the control of the sea.
  • The United States decides to be Neutral

    With it being a conflict that hasn't seen the affects cause Americans any issues they decide to declare that they won't be on anyone's side in the war, this would change eventually
  • Panama Canal

    The Panama Canal was made so that they can link the Pacific and the Atlantic Oceans to make a global trade network, and this would make it easier for nations to trade goods.
  • The fall of the ottoman empire

    After the Russo-Turkish war the Otteman empire started to be weaker than they use to be. They start to lose multiple territories such as Italy seizing North Africa and the Balkan League declares war to free the nations of Albania, Macedonia and Thrace.
  • Aerminain genocide

    The Armenian genocide happened for 2 years in the war over 1 million died on death marches to the Syrian dessert. You also had the forced Islamization of Armenian women and children. This is impactful because of what this caused as another genocide of war this would still be affecting its people as it only happened a few 100 years ago.
  • The US enters the War

    You then have America come in at the last minute as in January 1917 Germany declares war can be waged throughout the submarine as it can hold anything. Then you have the British intercept the Zimmerman Telegram which stated how Mexico should team up with them and Attack America. Then you had the sinking of 5 American ships the most notable being the Lusitanian in 1915. This was the last straw as America had 14 points on why they needed to enter the war
  • End of WW1

    When America entered, they basically were unstoppable as they sent over 2 million solders on the western front. The American forces sent Germany back from trying to takeover France, they then won the Battle of Meuse-Argonne which made Germany surrender in November of 1918.
  • Treaty of Versailles

    The Treaty of Versailles was the main thing that happened after World War 1. The big 4 of Italy, USA, Britan and France all were going to give out punishments to the losers of the war. They all bascially teamed up on Germany and put the blame on them, they took away 13.5% of Germanys territory away from them, took over 100,000 men from there army. Also paid over 33 billion dollars in damages.
  • The rise of Stalin

    You had the rise of Stalin and him making Russia into a powerhouse nation and this then Turing into the Soviet Union. This would be impactful as this was the rise of communism.
  • The Rise of Nazi Party

    The Nazi party rose to power after World War 1 because of the treatment of Germany after losing WW1. They then rose to the power because of one leader Adolf Hitler he then decided to take over as Fuhrer of Germany and decided to take over and start World War 2.
  • Start Of World War 2

    World War 2 is the Most know war in media as it has the most cray outcomes. You had the Nazi party who went against everyone and was the main starter of World War 2 with Germany trying to take over all of Europe. You had many famous people such as Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Churchill. The start of the war is very crazy because it started when Germany decided to invade Poland against the rest of Europe's vote.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Japan Decided to attack America at the Airstation of Peral Harbor. This was a sneak attack and killed many Americans. This attack was the start of America joining the War and the Pacific theater.
  • The Bombs

    On August 6 and 9th, The United States would use the weapon that would change the world forever. The US had been developing an Atom Bomb that once dropped could create the most destruction a bomb could make. The US was fighting with Japan in the pacific theater, and they realized they should use the bomb to end the war. They then dropped the bombs and killed over 210,000 people when they were dropped. The impact of the bombs is still felt today.
  • End Of WW2

    The Day the War ended was because the two big names fighting in each theater. You had Germany surrendering on May 8th, 1945, then you had Japan surrender on September 2nd 1945 after the atomic bomb was dropped by the US. With Japan and Germany deciding to surrender this was the end of one of the most deadliest wars. The Impact that this war left on the world is still talked about becasue this war is the reason for nukes.
  • A cold war starts to brew

    After World War 2 there is now two supernations, it is now the US and USSR. They benefited the most from World War 2 because The US had created the Atom Bomb and with that the USSR decided to make them too. This Started a decade long arms race, and they are still butting heads over topics but not as bad as the whole cold war. You had the USSR following the way of communism and then you had the US who followed the ways of capitalism which are the two opposites from one either.
  • The US and its policy of containment

    The United States had plans to try and halt the spread of communism in the world, you had the Truman doctrine which the US pledged to support to people resisting communist revolution. You then had the Marshall Plan which was 13 billion dollars to aid Europe in rebuilding after the war this also planned to teach some of Europe on how to follow capitalism. Then you had the first conflict of the Cold war which was the Berlin Airlifts You had the soviets cut power to western berlin.
  • The Iron curtain

    After WW2 you had the USSR expand across Europe to try and make them as one strong nation who listened under one leader. They also wanted communism to spread around like wildfire, After the war the soviet occupation stopped eastern European nations to have elections held. This is so impactful as this spread of communism was what started the cold war.
  • Korean War

    You had the Korean war happen because after WW2 they were liberated from Japanese rule, Korea was split into 2 the Soviet Union liberated the north while the US had liberated the south. With secret support from Stalin North Korea attacks South Korea. With this happening the US felt it was a threat to containment, so they decided to send military support to South Korea and China sending it to North Korea.
  • Death of Stalin

    March 5th, 1953: Stalin is found dead at his home. With his death had come Hopes of improvement in the Soviet Union as they would have a new leader, and this would be the end of the Stalin cult practically. The struggle to find out who would be the new leader of the Soviet Union was a long process it was between Nikita Khrushchev and Vyacheslav Molotov. On March 27th, 1956: they elected Nikita Khrushchev to be the new leader.
  • The Arms race

    What started when the USSR wanted to make its own atomic bomb, this then started the most known arm race to humankind. You had the space race which both nations create so many rockets to try and be the first to claim the space as it would show who has the better technology. The US and the USSR really started to spend and invest into military complexes. This was impactful because the arms race made technology so good as they kept inventing new items and this would be still used now in wars.
  • Conflict in Vietnam

    Vietnam was split into 2 with north and south, In the 1950s a tense rivalry was started between the 2. North Vietnam was very communist and South Vietnam was the complete opposite from them. In 1955 The US rigged an election for Prime Minister Ngo Dinh Diem favors. The US had aimed to prevent a united, communist Vietnam then in 1956 Diem cancels a plan to reunification referendum. In the 1960s the Viet Cong were created in south Vietnam. This was the start to the Vietnam war and caused war.
  • The US entry into Vietnam

    The US enters into Vietnam because of the USS Maddox that exchanged gunfire with a Northen Vietnamese boat at the Gulf of Tokin. The US said it wasn't there for anything but maintain an American presence. Then 2 days later another American Ship was attacked by the NVA, the next day President Johnson ask if they can send troops into Vietnam stating that Ho Chi Minh was the aggressor. This is impactful because this is what made the vietnam war happen between the US and Vietnam.
  • The Vietnam War starts

    The goal of the US coming to Vietnam was to protect South Vietnam from communism. In February 1965 the USSR states it will give a great amount of military support to North Vietnam, The US responds with doing air raids against Northen Vietnamese cities. Johnson made sure that doing these attacks would not provoke the USSR or PRC. Then in March 1965 the first troops would land in Da Nang. This was just the beginning of one of the most historic wars ever.
  • The US has struggles in Vietnam

    The war really didn't make sense for the US to join as during the war Johnson had lack of a clear mission and with this being unfamiliar lands for the troops, they would get attacked from sneak attacks from not knowing the jungle landscape. Ho Chi Minhs forces made many secret tunnels to have a quick way to transport goods and soldiers. This was also helped by the civilian's booby-trapping villages and or roads. You also had the use of Napalm, This war was the first to get fully documented.
  • Turning Points in the Vietnam War

    The Turing points of this war was that South Vietnam became less and less able to defend itself from the war. Then on January 21,1968 the NVA sieges a US Marine base at Khe Sanh, the US may have won but the morale was very low. Then in November of 1968 with the election of Nixion there was no more escalations in the war, he then made the focus to prepare South Vietnam to win the ground war but then by 1970 he decided to withdraw troops.
  • The US withdraws officially

    On January 27th, 1973: The US decided it was time for them to get out of there and the declared the end of the proxy war against Vietnam. The US would withdraw all remaining troops, all prisoners of war would be returned within 60 days, and the NVA would retain areas of South Vietnam they had already seized. Even with this the US still had a secret air war in Cambodia and Laos which caused the US 111 billion dollars. This war was a big flop if there way to stop the spread of communism.
  • The Soviet Union invades

    The Soviet Union invaded the Middle east as they did such thing the United States got involved in which made them scared for their oil supply to run out. You then had the soviets ran out of the middle east as a group that was given weapons to fight back, they fought back and took control of over 75% of the land. They were lead by a young Osama Bin Laden.
  • Chernobyl

    On April 26th,1986 a core reactor at a nuclear plant exploded and had caused a disaster. This then caused many people to die as they were exposed to nuclear waste and many other things. This is considered important because many people think this indecent was the being of the end of the Soviet Union.
  • 2nd Summit with the US and USSR

    The Second summit between the two nations saw the US in a dominant state that had now been in the lead of mostly all of the things you needed to lead in. They both agreed to reduce the arms race and this would be a mercy rule from the Soviet Union as they were most likely running out of supplies. The US decided to not drop the Strategic Defense Initiative.
  • The Fall of the Soviet Union

    The Fall of the USSR was something that many people of Europe had seen coming, the fall saw all of the nations that had been under this curtain open back up to being their own nation. Then in August of 1990 Gorbachev resigned and disbanded the communist party. The most iconic symbol of the Soviet Union falling will have to be the fall of the Berlin wall this was the start of a new age.
  • The US demilitarizes the World

    By the 1990s the US wanted to stop having such a military presence over foreign lands. They cut over 500,000 of their own personal members and closed over 60% of their bases around the world. They did still have a high budget.
