  • Geary Act

    This was an extension of the Chinese Exulsion act. This act had extended the Exclusion Act. The Geary Act became permanent in 1920. Chinese imigration ended up being regulated in the 1920's
  • Chinese Exclusion Act

    This act provided 10-year period of Chinese labor immigration. This means that workers in China would not be able to migrate.

    New Wave of Immigrants

    A new 12 million immigrants had arrived in America. Many of the newcomers came from many of the big Europe Contries. All of whom had been different races, religion and ethnicites.
  • Immigration Restriction League

    This was to put a literacy test on all imigrants so that they could see if they would be able to understand everything that was going on in the American language.

    The Great Migration

    This was the migration of tons of balcks people from the south to the north. In the 20s, 800,000 blacks left the south, then 398,000 blacks in the 30s. Between 1940 and 1960 over 3,348,000 blacks left the south for northern and western cities.
  • A New Tax Program

    This was a new tax bill to help pay for the war. Anybody who did not support the bill or pay taxes was "a friend of Germany" or "not an American citizen". This bill had helped to earn $10 billion for the war.

    An epidemic had errupted and traveled violently througout the world, killing around 600,000 in the US alone. This was an epidemic that killed quickly and without remorse.
  • End of the Exclusion Act

    This act ending meant for Chinese people to be able to migrate by their own will and coudl travel by their own means.
