    During the 1920s men fashion was full of sophistication. Suits with neutral patterns and pops of color in accessories were in style. Three piece suits with high cuffed trousers were popular during this time period.

    1940s mens fashion in the United States focussed on patriotism. Cuts, colors, and patterns were all aimed to support the country during war times. Cloth was in limited supply because of WWII rations. This meant that suits were now being sold by some without vests.

    The 1950s began the age of casual ware. While men dressed formal for work, it became normal to immediately switch to comfortable clothing afterward. Bright colors became more popular at this time to celebrate the post war time period.

    The Ivy League look became a staple of the 1960s. Sport coats are trousers were adopted by a country filled with a huge population of young men. Young people and everyday businessmen start dressing more casually in the workplace. Polos shirts, patterned sport coats, and relaxed trousers became the norm.

    The age of hippie fashion was during the 1970s. Bell bottoms, flared jeans, and flowing clothing became popular for men. While at work flared trousers became popular. Sportswear and tracksuits became casual everyday attire.
