    In these chapters Susie Salmon is murdered by her neighbor and is telling her life in heaven. She is remebering things and trying and wishing that she could point the detectives in the right direction to solve her murder.
  • Chapter 5-7 pages 49 thru 90

    In these chapters Susie is remebering big things in her life like her first kiss and she is very sad and lonely in heaven. Susie also feels very bad for her family becuase the investigation is still in hot pursuit.
  • Chapter 8-12 pages 91 thru 140

    In these chapters, Susie descripes relationships that she had formed with other students. While the killer is still living next door, Susis's family starts to become suspicious on Mr. Harvey.
  • Chapters 13- 15 pages 141 thru 186

    In these chapters Susie's father goes into Mr. Harvey's house and looks for clues but gets hit on the head with a baseball bat and is put in the hospital. Lindsey, Susie's younger sister, is certain Mr. Harvey has something to do with this so she goes into Mr. Harvey's house. Lindsey finds a piece of paper that is a drawing of Susie' tomb. As Lindsey is going to grab the paper she hears Mr. Harvey coming to the basement, where she is. She grabs the paper and jumps out the window just in time.
  • Chapters 16-17 pages 187 thru 233

    These chapters the police finding Mr. Harvey very suspicoius. The police go to search his house but he is gone. Everything in his house is gone and Mr. Harvet left for another town. He knew the police were getting suspicoius so he left. Also, everyone from the neighborhood goes to the cornfield to have a memorial for Susie on the day of her death.
  • Chapter 18-22 pages 234 thru 256

    In these chapters, Ruth passes out in the street and Susie enters her body. She can then be human while Ruth is in heaven. She gets to kiss the guy she has wanted to for so long. She tries to call her family but they can't hear her because she is returning to heaven while she is trying to make the call.
  • Chapter 23-27 pages 256 thru 328

    In these chapters Susie is trying to warn her family about Mr. Harvey but is unable to. She then is watching from heaven when she sees Mr. Harvey go into a diner. He starts talking to people and follows a girl outside. He askes her if she is alonoe and she starts to run away. Then an icicle from the roof falls and impales Mr. Harvey and his body is covered by snow.
