Main Influences
He wanted to learn guitar when he saw Jimi Hendrix do his classic "guitar sacrifice", by burning it on the stage.His greatest influence on guitar, however, received it from Tom Morello, whom he saw for the first time alongside Rage Against The Machine in a live concert. -
First Bands
Bellamy started a band named Carnage Mayhem. In December 1992 he left her to enter the Gothic Plague band, whose drummer was a young Dominic Howard, replacement as guitarist and vocalist. The group used to play covers of other bands, but Bellamy, after the separation of his parents,it had enough motivation to compose his own songs for the band. However, the members rejected the proposal of Bellamy's composing for the band, and after that, renounced the group in pursuit of other interests. -
Muse Creation
In search of a bassist, they contacted Chris Wolstenholme, who played the drums in a band called the Fixed Penalty. Convinced him to take classes of bass, and after accepting formed the grouping of current Muse. Under the name Rocket Baby Dolls, they won the "battle of the bands" at his college, which led them to Bellamy and others to take the band seriously and decided to change the name to one more 'professional': Muse. -
