First English Language Experience
My mother decided to leave to the United State to make a new life with us. Me and my sisters were emerged in a Bilingual Program in which we had our first experience with the English language. -
Elementary School Language Experience
During my elementary school years I had to repeat first grade because I didn't speak English. The other five years I learned English so much that I barely talked in Spanish only to my mother. I knew more English skills than in Spanish. -
English Language Experience in Puerto Rico
On a hot Summer of 1989 I came back to Puerto Rico. I barely speaked Spanish and when I did everybody laughed of my accent and all those words I said wrong, that for me were normal. -
Junior High School Years Language Experience
I began 7th grade and everything was great on my English class, but on the rest I was really bad. My dominate language was affecting my grades, but during the months and years I battle to improve my Spanish skills in reading and writting. -
High School Years Language Experience
I was still improving my Spanish language. English class was not a problem for me, I was a problem for my English teacher. I remember I used to correct him and he got mad at me. -
My University Years Language Experience
I began at the University of Turabo on 2001 up to 2007. I had a problem with my English language since, I didn't practice it for years. At least the speaking I struggled a little. During the years I had mor experience with the English language, because I was studying to be an English teacher. -
Work Languages Experiences
For two years I worked as an English teacher since 2008 up to 2010, From August 2010 up to now I have been working in a Bilingual Program. I also, work in a tutoring program giving English language skills reinforcement.
