    Malala Yousafzai was born July 12, 1997 in Mingora, Pakistan. This area is located in the country's Swat Valley. She was named after a hero that helped defeat the British in Afghanistan in 1880. Her name means "greif stricken". After her birth her father enters her name on the family register. This is a rare occurence in a male-dominated society that only recongizes sons. She was one of three children.

    Malala gave her first speech at the local press club in Peshawar. The powerful speech was titled "How dare the Taliban take away my basic right to education?" She was eleven years old at the time and this was the first time that she expressed her passion towards the cause of having the right to education.

    Malala is nominated for the International Children's Peace Prize of KidsRights Foundation, She was nominated by Achbishop Desmond Tutu. He respected the fact that Malala has the will to stand up not only for herself, but also for girls around the world.

    The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Yousaf Raza Gillani awards Malala with the National Youth Peace Prize. During this time Malala makes a speech about her hopes for the future. The states that she would like to start a national party of her own to promote education.

    As Malala's story gains popularity the Taliban decide to kill her and end the commotion. As a result a gunman shoots Malala in the face as she rides home on a bus after taking an exam. Two other young girls are also wounded at this time.

    On her 16th birthday Malala gives her first public speech since the horrible shooting. She once again reinforced she cause of fair edcuation. He main message was "Our books and our pens are the most powerful weapons."

    As the annoucment of whether or not Malala will win the Nobel Peace Prize nears, the Taliban issue a new threat against Malala. The state that they will try to harm Malala as long as she contradicting their efforts to impose strict Islamic law in Pakistan. It would be one year since the shooting on October 9th.

    Malala writes and publishes a personalized novel about her life. This book focuses on her efforts to impove education around the world. It also states all of the occurences throughout Malala's jouney to greatness. This selfless individual truly deserves this honor.

    On Malala's 18th birthday she stirved to help the syraian refugees of all ages. She did this by vollenteering and shelters and camps. She also opened a school for syrian refugee children. She believes that they too deserve education.

This documentary includes her impactful speech at the United Nations. The main reason that this film was created was to pretray Malala's main message for fair education.
