On August 6th, 1945, the US bombed Hiroshima with an atomic bomb. On August 9th, 1945, the Atomic Bombing of Nagasaki was the last atomic bombing during the war and the last atomic bomb ever used in warfare. The US dropped this second atomic bomb in reaction to the Japanese not surrendering after the first bombing of Hiroshima.
