Macdonwald was a traitor to the scottish throne and was slain by Macbeth.

King Duncan decides to give Macdonwald's former title to the man who killed him. Macbeth is currently unaware of his new title however.

The witches greet Macbeth as the Thane of Cawdor much to his surprise. The witches then tell Macbeth that he will one day be king and that so will Banquos children.

Macbeth details everything about what the witches told him and upon recieving his letter Lady Macbeth decides that Duncan must die.

As part of Lady Macbeths plan, Duncan along with his two sons is invited to spend the night in Macbeths castle.

Macbeth doesnt want to kill Duncan but is convinced by his wife to do so.

Whilst he sleeps duncan is murdered by Macbeth. This act inspires Macbeth's transition from a calm character into an insane sociopath.

Duncan is found dead and the bloody daggers are found on the guards bodies. Macbeth then kills the guards as vengeance for Duncans murder.

Macbeth is made king after Duncan's sons fled Scotland for their own safety. The witches prophecies have been coming true.

Banquo begins to believe that Macbeth was involved in killing Duncan in order to seize the throne for himself. Macbeth worries about Banquos loyalties.

During the Banquet Macbeth hires three criminals to go and kill Banquo and his son as they return from riding their horses under the cover of night.

Macduff escapes to England to try and get Malcom's help in taking down Macbeth.

Macbeth again goes to see the witches. he is given 3 visions. the first tells him to beware Macduff, the second tells him that no man of woman born can kill Macbeth, and the third tells him that he will die when the forest marches to his castle.

Macbeth orders Macduffs family kill in retribution for Macduff's treason. Macduff later hears of this in England and swears vengeance on Macbeth

Malcom and Macduff with over 10,000 English soldiers pick up trees from Birnham wood and march on Macbeth's castle.

Macduff reveals that he is not of woman born. Macbeth is shocked and again feels mortal

Lady Macbeth is overcome with guilt and decides to kill herself to escape the torture.
