  • Meets Mozart

    Meets Mozart
    Beethoven achieves his long-held ambition to travel to Vienna and meets Mozart. As Mozart reputedly said, “one day, [that boy] will give the world something to talk about.” Barely two weeks after arriving, and having impressed Mozart so much he agrees to take him on as a pupil, Beethoven has to return to Bonn where his mother is dying of phymatiosis. By the time he returns to Vienna nearly five years later, Mozart is dead.

    "For the last three years my hearing has grown steadily weaker..." - so wrote Beethoven, in a letter to a friend. The loosing of the hearing it's terrible for a musician. It's like Leonardo Da Vinci were blind and still painting the Mona Lisa

    The 9th Symphony-also known as Ode to Joy-was written at Fall of 1822.When the concert finished, the audience cheered.     It all started when Beethoven contracted pneumonia and his doctor, began therapy. According to his notes, he gave him an anti-inflammatory drug to help lung function. However, the drug had awful side effects. His stomach filled with fluid that had overflowed his lungs. In fact, his tumor was so large that it compressed his septum and shortned his breath.To relieve him, the doctor made a hole in stomach and remove huge amounts of fluid. At that time,instead of antibiotics,lead-mercury were used.

    We don't know when Beethoven wrote his composition, but it launched after his death, at 1867. In fact, his student ''Elise'' is propably Therese Malfatti or Elisabeth Rockel.
