William Golding is born on september 19, 191l in Saint Columb Minor, Cornwall, England.

At the age of twelve, William attempted to write his first Novel. He was unsuccessful and out of frustration he began to bully his peers. His grown up self described his child self as "a brat."

After 21 rejections, Golding managed to have "The Lord of the Flies" published. We all know how that book went. Critics loved the book.
